One of the most iconic pieces from one of Ann Demeulemeester's most iconic collections - Men's Spring/Summer 2011, a collection entirely built around the body armour of fencing. This jacket is the direct translation of that concept into garment form: structured, asymmetrical, confrontational.
Constructed from heavy black canvas in 100% cotton. The jacket closes asymmetrically along the right side via a vertical horn button placket. At the collar, three further buttons sit on the right shoulder — directly at the characteristic knitted stand collar with a cleanly finished inner edge. On the front, an asymmetric welt pocket. On the back, an asymmetric appliqué panel and a small D-ring as a military reference. The Rayon lining sits clean throughout; at the armhole of the right sleeve, an open lining seam — easily closed by a tailor in minutes.
Condition: Worn. The jacket carries the marks of a life lived in it — no damage to the shell, all buttons intact, lining seam at right armhole open and easy to repair.
