These exceptionally rare lace-up boots are from the Dirk Bikkembergs Femme line, dating back to the early 1990s (circa 1991-1992). The piece showcases one of Bikkembergs' most iconic and experimental design choices from his boundary-pushing phase: a complex lacing system that is physically threaded through the wooden heel and sole, creating an avant-garde and industrial silhouette. Crafted from high-quality beige leather, the boots have a robust construction with reinforced toe-boxes. The contrasting white sole with its prominent welt stitching, massive wooden heel, and raw industrial-inspired design language are key features. The leather has developed a beautiful and authentic patina over three decades of careful use, giving it a unique character. While there are visible signs of wear on the soles and leather that confirm its age, all functional components, especially the intricate lacing system, remain intact and fully functional, allowing these boots to still be worn. A genuine one-of-a-kind discovery for collectors of Belgian fashion and early archive design.
